The true warmth of spring has finally arrived in New York City and I think it’s safe to say that the sunshine is here to stay. Even though it’s forecasted to rain all of next week, this simple—yes, simple—spring-inspired nail tutorial will help you keep things light and bright.

Don’t worry, the abstract floral design is easier to achieve than it looks! I’ll be using Essie nail polishes from their Silk Watercolor Collection. This collection is made up of colors that are sheer and super bendable (a.k.a. perfect for Shrek fingers and beginners with unsteady heads).

After prepping nails with the base coat, apply two coats of White Page.

[title subtitle="Step 2"][/title]

Dab 4-5 strokes of Love Sheen (the pink one) in circular dots to create petal-like flowers any where you wish. Repeat the same steps to fill in any empty spaces on the nail. Tip: Make sure the polish brush isn't filled with lacquer when dotting. Doing so will only make things trickier! Just run the brush against the bottle to get rid of any excess polish.

Using Art New-Beau (the orange one), go over your Love Sheen dots to create the illusion of dimension. It's totally okay if you get the orange outside of the pink!

To finish, dab Point of Blue in the center of the flowers. Let your flowers dry and finish off with a top coat to seal your design.

That wasn't so bad, right? We hope you enjoy this abstract floral nail tutorial for Spring! Let me know if you're loving Essie's Silk Watercolor Collection as much as I am!
