Pucker up, Princess!
Happy New York Fashion Week, LoDown fam! As we transition more into the fall season, I thought I'd share with you my top secret lip routine.
If you asked me what I hate most in the world, I'd definitely say chapped lips.
I mean, y'all know I have an unhealthy obsession with lip balm. If you don't, I highly suggest you read, Things That Happen When You Moisturize. Ya gurl can't stand flaky skin, okay?
So yea, here's how I take care of lips–my super soft, super smooth, lipstick-hugging lips.

If you wear lip products like glosses, stains, or lipsticks, it is super important to fully remove them at the end of the day. I love Bite Beauty's Lush Lip Wipes because they do the trick both quickly and efficiently. Enriched with melon fruit extract, the wipes leave your lips hydrated and smelling so good. For tougher, harder-to-remove lip products like liquid lipsticks and lip stains, I usually opt for the NYX Be Gone! Lip Color Remover. Simply squeeze some onto your lips and wipe away!
Scrub-a-dub-dub time! Exfoliating is essential in your lip routine because you want to get rid of all the dead skin. I exfoliate at least two times a week or right before applying liquid lipstick. My Lip Scrub Award goes out to Fresh's Sugar Lip Polish, Jeffree Star's Velour Lip Scrub (Mojito), and Tarte's Maracuja Lip Exfoliant. Thank you for being the real MVPs!
And now the most basic BUT essential step, moisturizing! In the morning and throughout the day, I like to use tinted lip balm for a pop of color because it makes my lips look healthier. The Chapstick Classics (total throwback), Dinoplatz Lip Balm (smells amazing), and Fresh's Sugar Lip Treatment (contains SPF) are some of my favorites for daytime. In the evening, I tend to use a "thicker" lip balm or a lip mask perfect for overnight quenching. I completely trust Smith's Rosebud Salve, Bite Beauty's Agave Lip Mask, and Vaseline's Lip Therapy with my lips while I'm sleeping.
Remember to remove, exfoliate, and hydrate regularly. Major key. Let me know in the comments below if you follow the same lip routine! What's your favorite lip product?
