Remember when Fruit Roll-Ups were a thing? Well, for us, they still are!

Forget the store bought ones with food dye and high fructose corn syrup. We’re bringing you a 2-ingredient gluten-free recipe that will kick your store-bought favorite to the curb.

The best part? Our cheaper, healthier alternative only relies on seasonal fruits and honey. So, when we say fresh, we mean fresh.

Trust us, there is no better snack to throw in your bag when you're on the go.

Instructions:

Begin by setting the oven at 200°F. Wash the strawberries and remove the stems and leaves. Blend the fruit and honey in either a blender or a food processor until it reaches a slushy-like consistency. Line your pan(s) with parchment paper. Strain the mixture if you do not want the strawberry seeds. Pour your mixture onto the pan and spread evenly with the spatula. The idea is to make the leather as smooth as possible. Unevenness will make for crispy edges. Slip the pans into the oven and bake for 2 to 4 hours. The batch is done when the mixture does not stick to your fingers when touched. Through experimentation, and depending on oven, we have found it necessary to turn the oven up to 225°F and even 250°F.  Once finished, let the pans set overnight. Cut the strips and "roll-up" accordingly the next morning. Your fruit leather should stay fresh for a couple weeks if stored in the fridge!
