Hot Chocolate with a Twist

What's the first drink that comes to mind in the cold winter months? Chocolatey, warm and delicious, the correct answer is always hot chocolate.

As if simple hot chocolate isn't delicious, there are plenty of fun twists you can do to make your drink even more delicious for those nights spent in front of the fireplace with a blanket avoiding the freezing cold outside.  Start off with Nutella hot chocolate to give your drink a hazelnut base, and then, add your favorite toppings. Go traditional with marshmallows. Dust some cinnamon on top (or in the pot). Add some whipped cream and sprinkle some chocolate chips Truly, you can add anything to this super delicious recipe, and you will want to keep making it to keep your winter nights warm.

Nutella Hot Chocolate

2 tablespoons Nutella or any hazelnut cacao spread

2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

2 tablespoons natural sweetener of choice/raw sugar

Marshmallows, for serving (optional)

Cinnamon, for serving (optional)

Chocolate Chips, for serving (optional)

Extra Nutella, for serving (optional)

Unsweetened whipped cream, for serving (optional)[/tab]

2. Add the spread, cocoa powder and sugar, and whisk until dissolved and combined. Bring to a gentle simmer while stirring, and take off heat.
